Complete Sub Element Selection

Im moving this here because its where it belongs, its a genuinely good idea by Hyro, Essentially in Legend of Korra there are sub elements that make benders unique, Hydro proposed that sub elements be toggled off by default, and that you are either able to pick a sub element, or are randomly assigned one. Then you are unable to pick another sub-element (unless given a permission that allows you to do so). so command like:

/b c [sub-element]

/bending choose [sub-element]

The community obviously showed they liked it. Then it was denied for a reason related to only a CD's opinion I believe, shouldn't be allowed IMO, but ok. Anyway let's hope for the best.

I dont understand it as well. I wrote my thought about subelements already here: http://projectkorra.com/forum/members/hydroman.1100/, cause the main suggestion was denied for some reason...

No, just like the current element choosing. You can add multiple sub elements too.

So from what I understand there would be

/subelement choose (subelement)
/subelement add (subelement)
/subelement remove (player) (subelement)

Honestly if we wanted this to work better than what we could do right now, we'd need to rework the way subelements are stored.

What's wrong with just adding permissions to a rank that needs the sub-element?

Feel like this suggestion is just a bit of an over-complication for sub-element choosing.

Well usually adding a perm is a admin power, this would be a way for anyone to choose their subelement easily

Um, you need to give people the permission to choose elements so doesn't make much difference.
