I am new to using plugins and creating Bukkit servers

As the title suggests, I have little to no clue on how to set up bukkit servers to run some of these very interesting plugins.

Now, for details:

I have had some experience with bukkit servers. I made one a few months ago with my friends, playing the Last Airbender plugin for 1.6.2/4 (forgot which one, but it was one of those two). I had set up a craftbukkit server and everything, and it worked well.

Then I stumble upon this, which runs on 1.7.9. I decided to create a new craftbukkit server by going to the website, getting craftbukkit 1.7.9, and start playing this mod. Unfortunately, there is a problem we all are aware of: bureaucracy, and how craftbukkit has been curtained. Now, I can still download bukkit 1.7.9 (not craftbukkit, BUKKIT, without the CRAFT in it), but I have no clue how to use and run it. It doesn't appear that the craftbukkit tutorial is applicable to a regular bukkit server, but unfortunately I just cannot find a tutorial for regular bukkit. Every time I google search, it shows responses for CRAFTbukkit server tutorials, even when I specifically command google to search for NOT craftbukkit.

Could I ask the community if you could provide me links to a tutorial for setting up a regular bukkit server for 1.7.9, or even just explain here on the thread? Thanks in advance.

You can't run a server with just bukkit. Bukkit is the part of craftbukkit that makes plugins work, but it doesn't have any game stuff in it. I can't link you a download here, but you can find builds of crsftbukkit around the internet, or I think spigot has legal builds available.

Spigot has also been affected by the pulldown, as with most every google search I try to look up (all roads lead to Bukket, and they are all roadblocked).

I dunno, I guess I will just wait until they turn this plugin into Forge, which won't be for a while.
