also if u punch with lightning it will shoot from your fist making it easier to aim.

To get actual blue fire, like with all players having it would need a resource pack yes.. But if you just used firework particles in the fire it would give it a blue effect.

Actually Blue Fire would be a relatively easy add, it would just be how and what it does that makes it harder.

In the current Minecraft version, it's not possible to make lightning come out of anywhere but the sky. 1.8 has a new attack mechanic from the Guardian mob that looks like it will work, though.

Blue fire would be a cool addition, and it would help server adjust to the new EULA on minecraft servers. The only issue is it wouldn't look like fire, it would look like using the fireworks to bend.
