In the TLA and LOK, earthbenders usually stopped/blocked small rocks and boulders by punching them until they crumble into pieces, regardless on how muscular one is.

Same thing will be in minecraft (through this post of course). Earthbender can punch an earthblast that is approximately 3 blocks away from the user.

Edit: If redirection exists, it should be removed. That feature should be a water thing, not earth's.

Not sure. That's what I asked for confirmation if this have something else or not.

Yes if an earthblast is coming at you he player can left click and it will send it back (redirect). But I do like the idea of punching and destroying it more than redirecting, it's more realistic.
