Augmented Reality, or AR, is something very different from the Virtual Reality often talked about in the news recently. Virtual Reality transports you to another world, leaving this one behind, while Augmented Reality adds to your usual experience in reality, a recent example is Google Glass, but that only scratched the surface. Microsoft has come out with its product, the Hololens. This is able to create holograms that have three dimensions, and using advanced technology on the visor making them barely translucent. This field will be an amazing advancement in technology. Having a tv of any size on any wall. Playing 3D games on your table. Previewing 3D objects before you print them. The possibilities are endless, weird, and awesome.

The price hasn't come out yet, but it's most likely going to be expensive at first, but so were computers and phones, and look at us now!

I am going to hope that the hololens gets more transportable, similar to Google Glass, but even more transportable because Google Glass was crappy to transport. The hinges on the lenses wouldn't bend. Perhaps it will link to your cell phone through blue tooth, and have a bit of a personal server for the operations.

Talking to someone with AR Skype or watching a movie on your tv-less wall. Then switching to VR mode, the visor darkens, then a virtual menu opens up, allowing you access to any game you choose.
