Hello guys, this is a typed out fire bending tutorial, I hope you find this useful. If oyu have any tactics that should be added, tell me!
Fire vs Fire:
Fire is about rapidly attacking your opponent. This means that in a fire vs fire fight, you have to be quick. If you aren't quick enough, you will probably be defeated. It's also well known fire has little defense. This means you have to use evading instead of defending. A good tactic in a fire vs fire battle (and in most other battles) is to "confuse" your opponent. A JetBlaze combo can take too long, so just go on a firejet and use fireshield instead! It will light them on fire when you firejet across them. When your opponent is shooting constant fireblasts at you, there is a simple way of blocking this, by simply shooting fireblasts back. A fireblast will block other fireblasts, simple as that. When your opponent confuses you by using mobility to distract you, a AoE ability is useful (Such as fireburst). You are almost sure you will hit them, and they are interrupted, giving you a chance to strike. If you are good at aiming, you can also use lightning to stun them, preventing them from moving at all. When you hit your opponent multiple times, and they are almost dead, you can shoot a good aimed combustion at them to finish it off.
Water vs Fire:
Water will always stay close to their source, so you have to use this to your advantage. When they are seperated from their source they are completely powerless. We'll talk about that later. Some waterbenders like to camp in the water or even underwater. When this happens, your best change is to use fire abilities that travel underwater too. Lightning is a good shot, but it has a charge time, and then your opponent might notice you charging it. If you're not into it you can use combustion. Now back to those who stay on land. A common thing that waterbenders do is spamming torrent. The best way to counter this is to get behind the waterbender. Waterbenders have no damaging AoE ability, so use this to your advantage. Get behind the waterbender, use a few quick fireblasts, then jet around them, and use a lightning shot to stun them, because they are most likely running towards the water. Make sure they cannot get into the water. Then use a firejet + fireshield, and finish it off with a few more damaging abilities. When they get in the water anyway, try to use combustion or lightning.
Earth vs Fire:
First thing you should know is that earth is slow. This is the thing you should use to your advantage when fighting an earthbender. A skilled earthbender goes into defense mode when they get on low health. (RaiseEarth, EarthGrab, etc) Try to prevent this from interupting your tactics & attack streaks. When an earthbender uses raiseearth, try to jet around it. Be unpredictable, that's something earthbenders can't fight against. Most of the time, earthbenders ARE predictable. You know when they are charging EarthSmash, and then they have to grab it again and throw it, enough time to run out of the way! When they get a little bit too close, use firespin to get some breathing room. Keeping your distance is also useful. An earthbender doesnt really have too much range. When you see they are charging a shockwave, simply firejet over it.
Air vs Fire:
Air is hard to fight against because they can confuse you even more. They can also put out fires, so this isn't a useful tactic. Make sure to evade their attacks. If you don't, they will simply play around with you, blasting you in all directions, maybe even dealing fall damage to you. Again, try to get behind them. If this doesn't work, try to stay out of punch reach (6 blocks) and evade their attacks. If they start using AirShield, simply charge fireburst or lightning, and they are pretty much screwed anyway. You can also use blaze, but this isn't really effective. You can also use a fire combo to get through the shield. There is also a chance the airbender will start running or jumping with airblast. If they start going around in all sorts of directions, charge an AoE ability. This will interupt them, and you will be able to strike and deal a decent amount of damage. When tehy start avoiding and moving, so do you.
Air vs Chi:
Simply stay out of punch reach, that's it. They are powerless if they can't hit you.
That's it, if there is anything I missed, tell me!
