Earthbenders definitely need a new form of mobility, catapult kills people who try to use it to travel.. And then players quit because they lost everything.

I think if they went into a block that was 1 tall, they could just jump. Another idea was that they could scale up mountains and hills quickly by just automatically going up that one block edge.

I know what you mean, what you want to do is to disable the group's permission for lightning. To do so you must add this permission to the group: -bending.ability.lightning (Make SURE to have the hyphen there)

This is still a bug.. Even if you change the duration, it only changes the time it stays up. You will just get burnt a single time, and that's it. How the move is supposed to work is the wall is supposed to go up, and do so many damage per every few ticks, not just to do damage 1 time.
