I mainly use airsweep, but that's just me.. Any who, I meant to say my previous comment more as it's a benders decision how powerful they are close or far. The reason the martial arts are good at certain ranges really isn't the same as the bending elements.

From how I understand distancing in martial arts is that you need to be a certain ways away to effectively use a technique.. With elements it's really the same. Most airbenders like distance, while firebenders are a close-range fighting group..

They wouldn't make a move to counter a non-stock move..

Any bender can use their skills to avoid getting knocked back though.. (BTW: not many moves have great knockback)

This, no. If the two moves don't block eachother, then air only has a big clunky shield to use, and firebenders will complain more.. Overall, this idea seems like a huge buff to firebenders.. If you want your fireblast to do more damage, charge it up..

When was this ever really shown in the show? They were thrown around a lot in the avatarstate...

Airsweep is like a giant stick of air, which is more like the airsword that Aang was talking about..

I'm pretty sure Aang said that as a joke when they were in the shop... An airsword would basically be airsweep

With the amount of times that water bottles don't come back, it doesn't make them as over powered as they would be if it always came back..
