firebenders use the lightning movements to pull air from the lava causing it to turn to obsidian :D i think i saw this in one of aangs episodes where they show avatar Roku in his home town fighting along side the firelord against a volcano

pk made it into an ability but it an earthbending passive move not an actual move or a sub-element its part of earthbending and this was put across in the form of a question not a suggestion ^_^ js its suposed to be in the general section ;)
