    You can't really change the commands, but I think you mean when you can't use /b cos of voxel. Use /pk instead then.

    That's because when you change your element, all your elements get cleared and it is set to the 1 element you specified.

    That's because the blocks weren't directly next to eachother, but diagonally. A move CAN skip through it, since there is a little "space" between diagonal blocks.
