I don't see this as a major problem unless you're charging it way after it's ready to be released. I mean, every element has to deal with that but noone complains because they usually don't have the charge held beyond.

Change for the better, yes. And as I've said-- there have been many opportunities/situations where this could have been presented and it had not. If it was possible it would have been done or slightly suggested at by now. They've had 7 seasons between both shows to do so.
