There we couple cases where the bender had to keep their focus into leaving the water frozen as long they controlled it. One of them being Katara, where she displayed it right after she stopped her fired ice spears they turn into water and splashed on the ground when she wasn't bending them anymore.

Neither did they magically manifested the metal cable in thin air and I believe they use type of special uniform and not just regular chestplate for these type of tools to operate during sparrs :p

Yeah, but that would just make it un-logical. It should be a custom metalbending police force type of chestplate (and other gear) stuff exclussivelly instead of just any regular armor.

It makes a boost of a jetblast, which might a rip off for the reason for the other abilities having the same "[to give]more control [to the existing thing]". I wouldn't like catapult for example being more faster or fireshield being increase in size.

As long as an earthbender wouldn't have the capability to be often seen rushing around with a rock attached to them towards their opponent, as close as possible instead from firing away from distance, making this a frequent occurrence in pvp with earthbenders, than I wouldn't have any problem...
