I thought this could be an interesting idea for earthbenders to use in an EarthCombo system.
Name: EarthTackle
Description: Combo: RaiseEarth (left-click) > EarthArmor > Hold sneak (default: SHIFT). You cover yourself in earthen armor and charge forward with a burst of speed using your earthbending. All targets you hit will sustain great damage and be weakened from the powerful impact, slowing them for a short period of time.
How it will work: The idea is that they raise some earth from the ground, coat it around their bodies, focus their energy and then release it, breaking into a sprint aided by a violent burst of earthbending propulsion. (I don't expect the earth they use for the EarthArmor having to be from the RaiseEarth column in case that's difficult or strenuous with coding or the server in any way, but at least use any earth that will serve to complete the transition of the combo).
The player will move at great speed (perhaps around the speed of AirScooter) and will be able to control the direction in which they move by where they face their cross-hair (much like AirScooter). I figure the impact could possibly deal about 6 damage (3 hearts) and afflict a slow effect on them for about 2-3 seconds default.
The range could be for about 15-20 blocks or so for default. The cooldown could be about 20 seconds default.
EarthTackle could be used as an offensive attack and also as an escape tactic with the right timing. Although, it requires a certain charge time while holding sneak and is best designed for offense. I feel it is well balanced because it requires a moderate charge time, deals a fair amount of damage and the slow is practical and can serve well for finishing a weakened target but not too much as to prove overpowered. I also think that the effects of EarthTackle are logical, including the combo (at least to what I thought was a logical combo for such a technique).
I think this would make a great addition to an EarthCombo system and could really create a new and exciting way for earthbenders to fight in battle, allowing them to create new strategies and tactics that would prove really effective and a great change in their style of bending, I think a suitable one too.
I'm pretty sure this technique in some way has been used in the series.
