Well it could be seen as a higher-up earthbending technique since you're using the earth to sense viabrations, but at the same time, it's not like you're using a different sort of "bending" because you're still mainly using your great earthbending skills.

Honestly I don't find that a good reason. What about healing? And Metalbending is feeling/sensing the small pieces of earth within the metal. Tremorsense is feeling the fine/small vibrations in the earth, so why wouldn't it be a sub element?

Metalbending is bending of the pieces of earth, and lavabending is moving the particles of earth rapidly enough so they melt down, but Tremorsense is still mainly relying on using the earth itself, and not using "different properties" compared to metal and lava.

But still, why healing? Why pk has healing but not termorsense a sub? The Avatar Wiki defines both of them specialized techniques (aka. subelements), along with metal&lavabending(& if not mistaken, sandbending too).
