Purpose/Function: This will allow you to break blocks faster then normal with plain punch, with the clear or earthblast slot selected. Alternative this would allow you to shatter in coming earthblast in mid air, by just punching it at right time (by default one block away)
Canon:

Earth smash: Earthbenders can easily destroy rocks and boulders with punches and kicks, even if they have a small amount of muscle mass. This technique is useful when facing other earthbenders, as it allows the earthbender to destroy any earthen projectiles sent at them and break out of imprisoning techniques. However, it does not seem to affect objects not made of earth.[5]

I LOVE IT! Its canon, it would make earthbending fights 10x more exciting, and it is exactly what earthbending needs right now!

EarthTunnel is for destroying all blocks at a time. Punching one block at a time. The speed of punching could be of a stone pickaxe. EarthTunnel is revartable(/revartible?), while punching is not, because it is simple punching block like normally. And like i said, you can shatter and destroy incoming earthblast projectiles. I'm still thinking at the moment other uses it could be applied to.

I'm pretty sure that you can shift at an incoming earthblast and it gets destroyed.

this should be for earthbendable blocks, but YES< i truely like the idea, and it is cannon.
(look up the episode of avatar where toph was training aang in earthbending, she sliced through the earth like budder when aang.....welll.......tried hard)

Although yes, this is cannon I don't see any use for it. You could either use earth tunnel or an actual pickaxe to get the same effect. I'm going to deny this.
