What could the death of Bukkit mean for Project Korra?

I'm not exactly up to date on all things minecraft (and I haven't been for a long time) but one of the biggest pieces of news I've heard is that Bukkit may be discontinued. I don't know the specifics of how it happened or anything but this definitely seems a bit concerning. So, my biggest question: How would this effect the plugin? Is it bad? Good? Or does it just not matter?

If over time, servers start moving to something like Forge, could this open up new possibilities for the plugin? Again, I'm not sure how the whole Bukkit thing works, so I may be concerned over absolutely nothing. I just want to finally put my mind to rest and stop worrying over all this.

Well, there is Spigot.

However, I do realize your concern. I think it would be add for the plugin considering the the plugin is a plugin not a mod. It would be different coding to turn it into a Forge mod, and that is something that I don't see happening in the future. Even if Bukkit does not update to 1.8, we could stay on 1.7.9 for a bit.

Expect a bit of information on this in the next weekly update (9/12)! That is unless something changes with the situation before then.
