Well, if you want to get technical, it would be possible through science. Skin is a semipermiable layer of the body. Sooo if you wanna step away from the show for a minute and look at the facts, this is possible. Needed? Depends.
Yea, skin is semipermeable, but it usually only allows water to permeate in hypotonic or hypertonic enviorments are present. Cells only allow water to move in in and out via osmosis. Trying to force the water out would destory the cells, which happens to the plants that are used as sources of water.

because the move is called extraction, meaning something is taken from the original source. as for the water being pulled from a body, im pretttty sure if katara at a low waterbending skill level can extract water from someones lungs/mouth/stomach with ease it could be done in-game its also been seen on kyoshi island so please dont say we have no proof lol, also the thing about the cells being so small, the fact that waterbenders can pull water from thin air should be enough to cover that
Katara is one of the best waterbenders. Dunno how you think she is at a low level
Yea she is. She healed/resurrected aang which was announced as a best healer after that event, unlocked/achieved bloodbending very quickly (well actually ,just about a minute after she was told about it ,lol), she pretty kept standing long enough in a fight with Pakku before she lost against him,and beated azula's ass during SOZINS COMET.
Yep. The fact that we saw her do every sub-element of water also signifies that she was the best.
