Is AirBubble even accurate?

So I was discussing this with an owner of a server with the bending plugin, and I'm curious now. Have we ever seen airbenders breath underwater with airbending? I know the move is based off what Aang did to preserve himself, but wasn't that Waterbending since he froze the water?

I know it can be argued that he didn't know waterbending yet, but he was in the avatar state, and we've seen it done before.

Making bubbles underwater is one of two elements. Water, which traps the air in the bubble, or Air which pushes the water out of the air o-o
If you think about it, it seems kinda wierd, But air should be able to make bubbles o3o

That way waterbenders would also be capable of extracting water out of air :3 at some time, water gets really heavy, and airbenders cant handle the pressure. (Idea: cross airshield with airbubble, 10 blocks under tge sea level it will collapse
