Why could only earth benders be blind?? It's not something that's specific from avatar. Blindness is rl. This could also be done by a server owner.

Im pretty sure the reason why he chose earth was because of their seismic sense.

I mean, why wouldn't it be possible for a waterbender, firebender, airbender, or chiblocker to be born blind?

Here is why it wouldn't work:

Blindness + NighVision != Limited Sight
Blindness = Limited Sight
Blindness + NightVision = No sight except for health, hunger, and hot bar.

Sorry to say that seismic sense doesn't work in a way that would help players with permanent blindness... at all.
