You are right , now than the extra abilities of Carbogen like eruption don't work properly in 1.8 its true , we need some new offensive lava moves BUTBUT
i don't think Lavaplume is a move that we need to add .This is completely useless no one will use it . just try to stand like 2 - 2.5 block near your enemy and then waiting for the warmup of 3 - 5 sec and then there will still be possibilities that he escape : this is an useless offensive lava move.
I hope you understand what i mean.

Ok so first off-
Metal bending is fine because it's moves are useful. Metal clips doing most of the attack and defense, extraction being utility. Lava only has one move atm, and I hope I do not need to say why lava needs some improvements.

Now with plantbending, most of what it covers had already been suggested. Not much more to do. Lava though has barely had the surface of what it could do scratched, and then there is the set back of the falling sand with a liquid id problem. Carbogen and Jed have done good with it. But there is so much more we can do.

If I'd made it any different to be better, it would've been called op. But its lava so it's pretty much op on its own. I try to balance it out.

I somewhat agree with you here, but I still don't agree with this move. Metal bending should still be getting work, because IMO Metal Clips is kind of useless when you don't want to loose your clips (considering that 7/10 times the enemy picks up the ingots) and there may still be a lot more to do with lava bending, but metal bending can be improved upon more than almost all the other sub-elements, since we've seen it in action so often throughout Book 4. Plus, if you're making a point out of metal already having "attack, defense, and utility" all in two moves, then let's take a look at lava flow. You can click the ground and drown someone in lava (attack), you can shift and create a moat of lava (defense), and you can click to create an endless supply of lava that you can pick up with buckets (utility). I'm not disagreeing with the fact that lava bending needs some work, but other sub-elements need work too. Also I don't think this move should be added for the same reason as @Zafkiel

How about the lava goes up trapping you while it does so, then to fall on you the outer walls go away to be like it is keeping one size.

I'm trying to give lava more moves. And over half of the earth moves are defensive, 3 utility, and some offense in there somewhere. Lava is the offensive part of earthbending and it is lacking in strength right now.
Lava is not the offensive part of earthbending... It is a sub-element. I do not think it's a good idea to bloat up a sub-element that's rare in the series already. Earthbending right now is a good balance of offence and defence, especially with the addition of earthsmash to the core of the plugin.

A. Lavabending may not be the offensive part of earthbending, but it sure is offensive.
B. Right now the sub-elements aren't really sub-elements because benders can have both of the sub-elements of a element. When in the show a bender only had one, sometimes none.
C. No, earthbending doesn't have a balance of offense and defense. It has a lot of defense moves, and 2 good offensive moves. Sorry but that's the way it is.
D. A sub-element that's rare in the show isn't all that rare in minecraft, as most people can use them. And most of the sub-elements were rare in the show.
Lavabending - 2 people, Bloodbending - peaked at 5, down to one after the first book, Flight - 2 people

There really isn't more to say here besides the fact that I dont believe this move is really useful in it's current form. I appreciate the strong ideas and fervent defense of said ideas, but in this case its not super productive. So, I would recommend continuing your suggestions like you do (I've seen a lot). This one just didn't make it.
