It could be a earth subelement, since earthbenders can bend ANYTHING earth related. They can bend almost earth free metal, lava, everything related to earth. In this case, the electricity is is in all earth.

Where the hell did you draw that conclusion from? Lightning only tries to find the fastest way to the ground because of its charge and because it doesn't conduct electricity. This is like saying "Fire takes in air for fuel, so airbenders should also be able to bend fire!!!" It makes NO sense. No where, do you see earthbenders using lightning in the show. Also, when you say they can bend anything earth related, you are basically saying that they can bend all of the elements. By your logic, trees are related to earth, so earthbenders could bend freaking trees? Please think your next suggestion through.

Dude, if you actually read the previous posts on here there are people saying lightning bending is for airbenders and waterbenders. Read a little. Also, *spoiler* treebending is cannon. Toph could see through trees, and it does make sense since plants and trees take nutrients from the earth.

Are you sure it wouldn't be a Lava/Plant/Air/Chi hybrid combo?
I personally think it is a earth move, because what goes into the ground must come out of the ground. Just google lightning coming out of earth!!! For every action there must be a equal and opposite reaction, I don't think this has ever been more true. Feel free to show a video of something more true.

Idk, water still stands for me, however it could potentially be a Chi move
