The sub elements so far are just different forms of the main element. I don't see why breath and mud can't be considered sub elements when they are obviously a different form.

I don't know about this. With Minecraft, I do not believe you can register when a player is in rain, only when it is raining. So if a player used this underground and it was raining above ground, it would still work.
