say for example, you want a sound custom made for bending. you switch out a sound similar to that sound, and that gets replaced e.g. take air sounds from the series and replace ender dragon wing flap with it

couldnt you just do this with earthgrab and the earthdome combo? also, a player would be guaranteed to be dealt like 3 hearts from this ability or more with no chances of evading because theyre stunned and trapped from the ability

try copy pasting the items, icons, gui, etc. files from the resource pack to an updated 1.12 minecraft resource pack this is what i usually do when i combine resource packs to make my own custom one
