They have that passive because they use air bending to make everything easier. (Examples: Walking, running, jumping, etc.)

Do I spam basic attacks when I am an airbender? No. I use airblast, airburst, airswipe, and airsweep (And AirPunch, custom move made for a server) to attack. Once again, learn how to bend.
