Right now, one of the biggest issue I have with lavabending is that it's extremely powerful (Because it's lava) and when used with the right move (Earthgrab for example) it can be extremely unfair in a fight. So I got thinking, what would be the best way to fix the problem without completely making lavabending useless?
My idea is that when a player begins to melt the ground, walls of earth created by earthbending would begin to sink into the newly created lava rapidly, allowing players the chance to quickly jump on the melting blocks and jump away to safety. This would give players (mainly waterbenders) a fighting chance at escaping even if they didn't have bottles on them.
