    Yes. At least thats what I want it to look like. In icespike however you tap shift, columns of ice shoot up, and immediately go back down. With earthspike, I think that the spikes would erupt out of the ground, stay there for a few seconds, then retreat back into the ground.

    This move sounds very similar to earthline (except for the raiseearth part), so I don't see it being implemented. Sorry :(

    I agree with you on the fire benders being able to instantly cool lava. It is indeed too strong in my opinion.

    I suppose this could be an earth combo, considering the duration of the combo sequence is short and not complex.

    After watching the scene where Toph fights that guy (the Gecko), I agree. However, I did not use that gif because Toph uses that move to knock the guy around and eventually off the arena (seemed more of a utility move), where the move I envisioned would just straight up do damage and knock up...

    Really cool suggestion! But I think the carrying the player off with it feature is too similar to twister. Maybe instead of carrying the player with it it can just knock up?

    It could possibly be a combo. But the point of this ability was to provide earth benders with a simple, quick method for escape/increase attack potential. Making it a combo would increase the time for casting it and that's what this ability was supposed to avoid.

    Since many of earth's abilities require charge time/delay (shockwave, lava flow, earthsmash), I thought that earthspike would temporarily deter the enemies so it would give the earth bender some extra time to charge for his next move. That's why I thought a knock-up and small slow would be nice.

    This move would allow an earth bender to tap shift (only when standing on earth) and small columns of earth erupt under your foes (1-4 spikes), briefly slowing, doing damage, and slightly knocking up enemies. However, when charged for a few seconds, the spikes would do the same amount of damage...
