When you say there is no way to visually show how this work, why don't you just go into a dark place and use the ability for the gif.
 
I could make a gif, but it's just gonna be me tapping sneak in 3rd person and then it gets brighter.
 
Here's a visual effect you could make:

Get nearby enemies/players.

Make a vector that goes from the user's location to the target's location.

Visually display it using a packet to play a particle effect only to the user.
