Since not all benders have a strong connection to the spirit world, how about giving (whichever element(s) get the instant access to spirit world ability) the ability to guide other users into the spirit world?
To use this move simply Shift for 7 seconds while having your pointer over the user you want to guide into the spirit world. After the 7 seconds are up, you and the user will both be sent to the spirit world.
To leave the spirit world the user must either die, or enter the Spirit Portal.
(2nd Option)
To leave the spirit world the user must be guided out by the person who brought them in.
(Guide them out by shifting and having your pointer over the user. You leave the spirit world instantly.)
Demonstrated by Korra & Jinora in Book 2 of TLOK.
Jinora guided Korra into the Spirit World when Tenzin couldn't. They got separated and couldn't escape because no guidance by Jinora. Korra was able to leave the Spirit World because she became weak and hurt.
