This is an update on how to make a suggestion in order to ensure that it is read and taken seriously. This is an update from the original post that was created when the project was created.

To create a suggestion, make a new thread in the proper suggestions area of the forum. If it is for the Core plugin, you're in the right place. A suggestion is where you should be as descriptive as possible about your ideas so that the concept designers and developers understand you completely. The more thought out your suggestion is, the more likely it is to be considered.

As suggestions can be very versatile, there is no official format to follow, however, there are a few things we require that you keep in mind while creating your suggestion:
  • Break your suggestion up into coherent paragraphs and use full sentences. It just makes it easier to read.
  • Include images if possible. For example: If you are suggesting an ability, it helps out if you can tell us exactly where to see in the show (if it exists) where your ability was used. It helps developers and concept designers out tremendously.
  • Make sure your suggestion doesn't already exist. You can check the Looking Into tag by clicking on the prefix before any thread in the list. If you see a similar one exists, don't post it again. If you see one that shares a vague idea, instead of making a new thread, comment on their thread with how you would change it. We read entire threads when we go through and design what we see in the suggestion forum.
  • Keep Suggestions Practical. We do not require everything to be from the show, however, we do expect a sense of practicality in suggestions.
  • Make sure it is plugin appropriate. Get an idea of what is / is not possible in a Bukkit plugin to save everyone some time.
  • Keep Suggestions Limited: Try to keep suggestions limited to one topic. For example, if you create a thread that has suggestions for each element, it will probably be denied and you will be told to break it up. This allows us to mark through what we already have much easier if each thread is limited to one suggestion.
  • Make sure you're suggesting for the right plugin. If you are suggesting new abilities and commands, chances are you're in the right place. If you're suggesting we add new mobs, items, and blocks, chances are you're not. You may be looking to suggest for another plugin, or it may not be possible to implement your suggestion.
  • Make sure your suggestion doesn't already exist. If it is a feature that is already in the plugin we will just mark your suggestion as complete and move on. If your suggestion differs from something in the plugin, be sure to highlight the differences and we may try to find a 'common ground.'
