That doesn't stop people from spamming watermanipulation. They know it's so easily blocked and redirected, but they still do it? Are not all river fights based off who can redirect the other person's watermanipulation and/or out manipulate them? And who said redirecting torrent should be easy...

Again, this is under the impression that both waterbenders will spam torrent. However this is never the case in any water vs water fights I spectate. Master or novice.

But why do that when you can use a water equivalent of fire's jetblast? As 6tjin stated, spout fights are extremely difficult. Especially if your opponent is extremely good at knocking out your spout before you have time to go on the offense.

Who's honestly going to spam torrent the entire time? Whenever I am fighting with another water I only end up using torrent once. That one torrent is usually what ends their life. Would it not be a good idea for the defendant to be able to have a last chance in fights where torrent will likely...

Exactly. Increased range, and speed for waterwave. However I only see myself using this to get to the same height as my spouting opponent in Water vs Water ;P
