I think EarthBlast and Smash should get the blockcrack particles. Also, I think earth would break ice, water would stop fire and earth will stop water & fire. The only exception is that Combustion can explode earth and Lightning will spread in water of course.

Its annoying that as of 1.8 we now suffocate in the ice we are trapped in from waterbenders. First and foremost, you are blinded as if you were trapped in packed ice, you can no longer know which direction to excape from. Second of all, sometimes you start suffocating immediately when trapped...

However, I would suffocate to death... (PhaseChange saves the day)
